Ankita Thakkar’s primary practice areas include assisting schools in compliance with special education, Section 504, student rights and discipline, and independent study. Prior to joining Young, Minney & Corr, LLP, Ankita worked for a law firm that specialized in labor and employment law. As a law student, Ankita worked as a legal intern at Marvel Television and VSP Global, and she spent her 1L summer as a judicial extern in Uganda. Prior to law school, Ankita interned at the Alliance for Children’s Rights.
Ankita graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Education Studies, from the University of California, Los Angeles. She obtained her Juris Doctor, with certification from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, from Pepperdine University School of Law. While enrolled at Pepperdine, Ankita served as the Associate Editor for the Law Review, competed in several national Moot Court competitions, and served as the Chair of the Armand Arabian Moot Court Competition. She also acted as an advocate for families of children with special needs through Pepperdine’s Special Education Clinic.
