Brinkley Wilson’s primary practice areas include assisting schools in compliance with special education, Section 504, and the student suspension and expulsion process. Brinkley regularly advises clients on issues regarding due process complaints before the Office of Administrative Hearings, compliance complaints with the California Department of Education, and civil right complaints with the Office for Civil Rights. She also assists clients when faced with matters on campus, including difficult parent and student relationships, student discipline, and general daily compliance with policies and procedures. Brinkley is also a frequent presenter at YM&C workshops on topics related to special education and student matters.
Prior to joining Young, Minney & Corr, LLP, Brinkley work for a law firm that represented school districts in California. During her time there, she honed her legal skills focusing on special education law and student related matters.
Brinkley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, with honors. She obtained her Juris Doctor, with certification from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, from Pepperdine University School of Law. While enrolled at Pepperdine, Brinkley served as the Literary Citations Editor for the Dispute Resolution Law Journal. She also acted as an advocate for families of children with special needs.
