Charter Development and Public Governance Compliance - Los Angeles

Young, Minney & Corr, LLP is a premier California law firm of 30+ attorneys with offices in Sacramento, Walnut Creek, North Hollywood, and San Diego, representing public charter schools in all matters, including charter approval, renewal, defense, and corporate and public governance matters (open meeting law, conflicts of interest, etc.).

We are looking for an associate for the North Hollywood office with experience in working with public entities and nonprofit corporations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in oral advocacy, careful editing of large documents, and an understanding of the unique challenges at the intersection of public and private entities.

Applicants should be highly skilled in legal research and analysis, legal writing, public presentations, and client counseling. A friendly, collegial, detailed-oriented strategist will be a good fit. A specific focus in the area of education law would also be beneficial, but not necessary.

Litigation Attorney

We are a premier California law firm of 30+ attorneys with offices in Sacramento, Walnut Creek, North Hollywood, and San Diego, representing public charter schools in all matters, including all areas of litigation, both prosecution and defense. Much of our litigation work involves issues of first impression leading to appeals and writs.

We are looking for an associate with five or greater years of litigation experience in complex and commercial matters. Law journal, appellate writ or appeal experience is a plus, as is a background in trial court writ of mandate processes and strategies, trial advocacy training and/or trial experience. Contract and/or statutory interpretation, and clerkship experience are also valued.

Applicants should be highly skilled in drafting complex pleadings, excellent at legal research and analysis, and well experienced in the strategies of evidence, and preparation and response of discovery in high value actions. Facilities Counsel – Sacramento

We are looking for an associate with experience in facilities work, preferably in the context of public entities. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in drafting transactional documents relating to facilities.
