Wendy Walker litigates on behalf of charter schools and insurance carriers in all manners of disputes, and has experience in the state and federal courts of California and New York. Wendy utilizes her background in insurance defense and civil litigation to represent clients in all stages of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Wendy is admitted to practice in California, New York, and Arizona.
Prior to joining Young, Minney & Corr, LLP, Wendy was a litigation associate in the New York office of an international law firm, Assistant General Counsel of New York Life Insurance Company, and Funding Director and Legal Counsel at Law Finance Group. Wendy has represented foreign and domestic banks, insurers and other financial service providers in suits brought by individuals, class actions and government bodies. She has deep experience with leading internal investigations, large-scale discovery disputes, and motion practice in bet-the-company litigation. She is a published author and speaker, having written numerous articles on ethics issues related to third-party litigation finance.
Wendy obtained her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a member of the Tax Lawyer law review journal and was a research assistant to Professor Charles Abernathy, a co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Politics from the University of San Francisco, where she was a student in the Honors Program for Humanities and a Davies Scholar.
