Rebecca’s primary practice areas include assisting schools in compliance with special education, Section 504, and the student suspension and expulsion process. Rebecca consistently emphasizes the importance of negotiation and maintaining relationships in her practice, working towards creative solutions whenever possible.
Prior to joining Young, Minney & Corr, LLP, Rebecca worked at Lanterman Regional Center’s Special Education Legal Clinic as a fellow and grant recipient from the Department of Developmental Services. Her focus was on reducing disparity in service access through family education and direct advocacy. She also worked with the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley (Legal Advocates of Children and Youth), assisting families in navigating special education and school discipline, focusing on juvenile justice and dependency-involved youth. In addition, she has carried this passion for continuing to advise schools on meeting the needs of homeless and at-risk youth.
Rebecca offers training to various audiences on best practices in the education of special education students and other vulnerable populations, reducing liability and compliance with legal updates. Additionally, Rebecca has had the honor of presenting at conferences for the California Charter Schools Association, APLUS+, and Council of Parent Advocates and Attorneys.
